software engineer

Ezra Song

I build software people actually use: course planners, chat clients, and research tooling. I care a lot about how each one feels under the fingers.

about

I study mathematics at the University of Waterloo and spend most of my time shipping software: planners, chat clients, and research tooling. I like problems where the fix has to be felt, not just described: latency, drag-and-drop, the exact moment a UI responds.

Right now I build frontend for research tools at Unmodal Research. Before that I shipped React Native prototypes, ran QA pipelines, and built production React UI.

Away from the editor I'm usually deep in a keyboard build: lubing switches, tuning a layout, chasing a sound. It's the same fixation on how a thing feels that I bring to everything on this page, right down to the keys in the nav.
